An Open Invite to Kabataan Magkaisa 3

We are proud to be a co-convener of the Kabataan Magkaisa 3 with Kabataan Alliance Southern California Pilipinx American Student Alliance, Northern California Pilipinx American Student Alliance, Northwest Filipino American Student Alliance, FIND District 3, @samahangpilipino, and others!

Over 20 chapters of Anakbayan USA are coming together at UCLA in Southern California to participate and help convene the 3rd convening of Kabataan Magkaisa (Youth Unite). This conference serves as one of the few gatherings nationally of Filipino and Filipino-American youth across the country to tackle the issues of our kababayan in the Philippines and abroad, and Anakbayan USA is proud to co-convene Kabataan Magkaisa 3 with Kabataan Alliance.

In January 2016, Anakbayan USA held the 1st Kabataan Magkaisa Conference in Seattle with the Kapit Bisig Kabataan Network (KBKN), which did relief and rehab work with MAFA, NWFASA, NCPASA, SCPASA, FIND, and other Filipino youth organizations. This collaboration with youth and student organizations across the country would eventually lead to the founding of Kabataan Alliance and the second iteration of the Kabataan Magkaisa conference in San Francisco. The various convenings of Kabataan Magkaisa have deeply forged the unity among Filipino youth across the United States to advocate for the rights and welfare of Filipinos in the US, the Philippines, and around the world.

Anakbayan and Kabataan Alliance have consistently provided relief for typhoon and earthquake disasters, waged joint campaigns for Defend Lumad Struggles, and struggled for pro-people education for Filipino youth in the U.S. through the Take Back Our Education & KA’s Rise for Rights campaigns.

With the outbreak of US-led war in Palestine and increased US war provocations in the Asia-Pacific putting the Philippines in the crossfires of war, to the heightened repression and fascist attacks against students and their right to a quality education, now more than ever, Filipino youth and students have a responsibility to unite and take action to expose the Marcos Jr. regime’s neglect of the suffering Filipino masses and the US-led war and aggression around the world.
