Justice for DC4! Activism Is Not A Crime!
Anakbayan USA condemns the arrests of four, brave Anakbayan members after rightfully disrupting an excessive and lavish dinner between President Marcos, his cabinet secretaries, and some of the Philippines' richest billionaires on May 2, 2023 in Washington DC.
It is not wrong to call out fascism and hypocrisy to its face. It is wrong for us to sit idly by when real criminals like Marcos get to enjoy the wealth they stole from the Filipino people. While Marcos, his cabinet, and the ruling class wine and dine in Michelin-starred restaurants in the U.S. and across the world, the exploitative policies they write and broker force overseas Filipino workers abroad to settle for work in abhorrent conditions, low pay, all while separated from their families. Marcos and his lackeys in the billionaire class are the real criminals!
We salute our members for facing off against the cowardly tactics of the fascist US-backed Marcos II regime! The US and Philippine state’s coordinated attempt to silence our activists demonstrates their fear of the strengthening mass movement and resistance abroad.
Prior to having diplomatic immunity, the Marcos family was not allowed to set foot on U.S. soil because of the $353 million dollar contempt order from human rights violations under Ferdinand Marcos Sr.’s brutal martial law. The Marcoses are the ones who should be arrested.
The US and Philippine state’s coordinated attempt to silence our activists demonstrates their fear of the strengthening mass movement and resistance abroad. We must expose and hold accountable the Philippine government for their crimes against the Filipino people. So long as working masses continue to suffer at the hands of the ruling class, we will make sure that the US-Marcos II regime knows no peace!
