Anakbayan USA condemns the disappearance of Axielle “Jak” Tiong, Anakbayan Pangasinan coordinator, and church worker Eco Dangla, on March 24 in Barangay Polo, San Carlos, Pangasinan. Reports from local witnesses state that they were assaulted and forced to enter an SUV.

Anakbayan USA and BAYAN USA condemn the unjust detention, blacklisting, and deportation of Anakbayan Switzerland Chairperson Edna Becher. This is the first deportation of an activist under the fascist Marcos regime.

Although the Philippines celebrates June 12 as “independence day,” it is clear that the archipelago is still not truly free. The neocolonial and semi feudal systems keep us from attaining genuine liberation for all in the Philippines.
